Chipotle Bowl

The perfect Chipotle bowl for skinny guys

The thought of ordering takeout may seem like a daunting task, but there are plenty out ways to make it easier on you. One great alternative is going through your local Chipotle and getting protein-packed food with healthy veggies for around $10!

You may be thinking WHATTT?! …since what most people order there is packed with bad stuff. However, if you make the right choices, you can get a protein-packed, healthy meal.

The order

First let’s start with what’s NOT in my order. I don’t put any sour cream, cheese or beans. Sour cream and cheese are loaded with omega-6 fatty acids (the bad kind). I’m also lactose intolerant, hence the no cheese. And the beans, I just don’t like them.

So what is in my order? I opt for a bowl with ground rice, double chicken, grilled veggies, tomato salsa and lettuce. All in, this comes out to 620cal, 20g fat, 46g carps and hoping 69 grams of protein! If I’ve eaten enough calories for the day, I may just stop there. But usually by the time workout and sit down to eat dinner, I usually need more calories. In this case, I’ll add chips which increases the calories to 1160. (Source of nutrition facts, chipotle.com)

If your goal is weight-loss, this might not be a great meal. But if you’re skinny and looking to bulk up, you need a calorie surplus and lots of protein. Is this the perfect meal? No. It has a lot of sodium and not a ton of healthy fats (adding guacamole) would be a good fix there. That said, we don’t always need “perfection.” Sometimes just making good choices in a simple way works.

So, whatโ€™s the verdict? Can you still eat at Chipotle and maintain your skinny guy gains? The answer is a resounding yes! Just make sure to order wisely. Avoid the temptation of extra cheese and sour cream. Instead, load up on veggies and chicken or steak. If you want some carbs, go for brown rice instead of white. And if you really canโ€™t resist those delicious burritos, ask for half of it to be wrapped in lettuce leaves instead of a tortilla.
